Daisy’s big day approaches – and I’m not sure why I’m nervous!
We start the demanding KC Working Gundog course on Saturday and I’ve been reading about the standards required to be awarded this prestigious qualification. Included in the never-ending list are:
barking and whining are never acceptable!
your dog must not move when other dogs are retrieving, game is moving or dummies are being thrown
refusal by a dog to enter cover or that are gun-shy will be given a “not ready” assessment
dogs that refuse to pick up, retrieve or that abandon a dummy or game will fail. Poor delivery of game or dummy will not be condoned!
Sounds like being back at a military boarding school!
I’m almost expecting to be met by a Sergeant Major.
