Withdrawal symptoms setting in, I’m afraid!
Apologies to those who might find these photos distasteful, but it’s a way of life for many, many people in this beautiful part of England – and I’m very much part of it.
It’s a shame the shooting season is over for another year but at least we have some shows and many training courses to look forward to.
The first of these starts this weekend and Howard Kirby, owner of Mullenscote Dog Training Centre, multiple Field Trial Championship winner and one of the very best gundog trainers in England, has asked me to work alongside him in running the next round of courses on a more formal basis than hitherto. I’m delighted to accept and hope I can reach the high training standards that Howard sets.
In the meantime, it’s a question of “Hold that thought!” for Daisy and Poppy as we swap fur and feather for canvas dummies and starting pistols!
