We’ve just returned from a great weekend down in Dorset where Martin Clunes hosted us at his Buckham Fair – 18,000 visitors came to this unique charity event and raised over £50k. A drinks reception hosted by Martin, followed by a Chinese takeaway(!) on Saturday evening, accommodation in a Showman’s caravan, early start on Sunday and then we were off!
Loads of visitors came to our stand which was run by the team comprising Andrea, Matt, Martine, Kim, Alan and Max – all with their own dogs.
Then it was in to the main arena for a 45 minute turn which went down as well as any show we have done. Lots of laughing, interaction with the huge crowd, tricks, jumps, rolling, stealing sausages – oh and a bit of gundog work too! Our pup Tilly rose to the occasion: it was lovely to see a little dog working so well. Great fun and much appreciated by Martin and his team. So many welcoming, helpful and like-minded people from all over the world, including the ” Clunatics”, a group of American women who follow (stalk?) Martin wherever he goes, watching him film and helping out at his charity events!
We’ve already been invited back for next year, so we can’t have been too bad! What a great way to end the show season.
