Just got home after the Salisbury Show. What a great display by the dogs! Poppy stole the show as always, going “off piste” from the script and delighting the crowds with her unscripted, unrehearsed but very clever antics! I think she knows when she has an audience and plays to the gallery.
Anyway, despite the grey weather and the fact that people were still arriving at the show when we went on, we had a full gallery and people really enjoyed the dogs. The Royal Signals White Helmets motorcycle display team started their show in the other arena a couple of minutes before I finished, so when people started to leave to watch the bikes (as I would have done too!), I called it a day and wrapped it up. But this was still one of our best performances – at a huge venue to boot!
Only 1 day of rest before we’re off to Newton Tony for the next show. A much smaller, more intimate and “villagey” atmosphere – we had a lovely time last year and we’re really looking forward to doing it all again. And the weather is set fair too!
