Elizabeth Gant and her lovely ESS took their Gold assessment today at Mullenscote’s. Nothing strange in that, you might think. However …….
Just a few weeks ago, Elizabeth was handling her spaniel using TWO leads. Without a lead, the dog would just bugger off to the far corners of the county and appeared to be a lost cause. However, with a combination of patience, hard work and skill, Elizabeth has turned it round to produce a dog capable of walking to heel off lead, of taking direction on multiple retrieves, of stopping to the whistle and generally listening to Elizabeth. What a difference!
I’ve experienced many highs training people and their dogs – and almost as many lows!. Today was definitely one of my personal highs. To see Elizabeth full of confidence handling an attentive dog who is now eager to please was a real joy.
Well done Elizabeth!
