I will be fulfilling a dream I’ve had for a long, long time tomorrow – and it’s all thanks to the RAC ……….
I’m joining Stuart tomorrow as he takes his Goshawk, Harris Hawk, ferrets and dogs out for a day’s hunting. Working birds of prey with dogs is just stunning to watch. The understanding between man, dog and bird in an experienced team has to be seen to be believed. I’ve often thought of trying it for myself and tomorrow I get my chance!
What’s this got to do with the RAC? Well, Andrea’s car broke down the other day, I called the RAC and Stuart soon arrived. I quickly discovered that not only does Stuart live 300 yards away from me, but also he owns gundogs, works birds of prey and is a country sports enthusiast. He fixed the car in no time and we got down to chatting about the important stuff! We agreed that we should share our respective hobbies with each other: he would take me hunting with his pack; and I would help him with his dogs. It was an amazing twist of fate that brought us together and I’m so pleased. I must get the car to break down more often!
I can’t wait for tomorrow and I’ll try and remember to post some pictures and tell all. The weather is set fair, the sandwiches are made and the camera battery is charged. All we need is for the bunnies to come out to enjoy the Spring sunshine ……
