We’re all set for this Saturday’s Wessex Country Fair on our doorstep in the magnificent setting of Wilton House owned by the Earl of Pembroke. We’re on at 3.30.

It’s lashing it down at the moment but the forecast is reasonable for Saturday. All profits are going to the Salisbury Hospice and almost all the exhibitors (including us) are performing for free to support this worthy cause.

Our show routine has been refined and is now much more “story telling” and humorous in nature, rather than just a sterile demonstration of what Gundogs can and should do. I’m once again hampered by the non-availability of Andrea and Barry as helpers, so have had to recruit someone new to help me run the show. It’s an important role and can affect the performance, so I’m crossing everything I have that the stand-in will come up to scratch. I’m sure he will.

Come along if you’re in the area – I have a few free tickets!

  1. Fabulous show and wonderfully behaved dogs! Loved it!

  2. Freddie, you’re not only very kind to say this, but you’re also a star performer in every way! Let’s hope we can work together next year. Hugs to you and your dogs, quacks to your ducks and a harrumph to Victor!
